The final version of the Stock Village Design Statement (VDS) has been formally adopted by Chelmsford Borough Council as part of local planning policy. Copies of the statement have now been printed and it is hoped that a copy of the document will be delivered to each household within Stock Parish early in the New Year. The document can now be viewed on Chelmsford Borough Council, stockvds.co.uk and via Stock Village websites.
The VDS is a material consideration in the determination of planning applications. This means that planning officers will make use of specific guidance in the VDS when dealing with cases for the village and that planning inspectors will refer to it when handling planning appeals. The Parish Council and individuals can also refer to it in any comments they make on planning applications. As a public document the VDS should influence people carrying out work on their home or land whether it needs planning permission or not.
I take this opportunity to give my public thanks to all those who gave their time and help in production of this important document.
